Last night we went to our ward Christmas party. The kids dressed up as shepherds, wise men, angels, and animals and did a little Nativity insta-play. This included Adrian running around the stage mooing and announcing he was a hungry cow while wearing meerkat ears we got at the zoo in Cork in Ireland. After a couple runs, Jamie went and said something to him. I don’t know what he said, but the kid sat relatively quietly (still mooing occasionally) the rest of the time.
But that’s not what I was going to write about.
So after all that, the bishop was talking and he said something about how we are celebrating the birth of Jesus over 2,000 years ago. Adrian, who really did not seem like he was paying attention to a word that was being said, but clearly was, looked at Jamie and me with this astonished look and said in this shocked voice, “Jesus was born at Christmas?!?!”
I’m really not sure how we didn’t communicate this to him earlier in his life.
