We had planned to go to Six Flags Friday night, but it was very, very cold and even Cameron thought it was too cold to go there. So, with one hour to go until we’d have to leave, we decided to go to our church’s Trunk or Treat. Since we hadn’t planned on going to it, the kids did not have Halloween costumes. Over the next hour they put together four costumes to wear (and Ian stopped at Aldi’s to get some candy to hand out).
Ani chose to go as Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games series. Cameron went as a Son of Neptune from the Roman camp in the Heroes of Olympus series. (These two costumes prompted one kid from church to comment that we much read a lot of books in our house… as a matter of fact, we do). Fritz , of course, immediately said he wanted to be Mario. Adrian chose Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. I was rather impressed with the job the big kids did making those costumes so fast.
